Robert (Bob)'s Story
After high school I moved to LA to attend USC film school. I learned that I did not really enjoy film production as much as I thought I would (surprise), but still lived in Hollywood for a few years after college. I met my wife, Debbie, in late 1979 and we married in 1981. In 1982 we decided to move back to my homestate of Minnesota to raise a family. We have 2 daughters (almost all grown up now) and had a son who passed away in 1990 from SIDS. In the 1980s I worked in the video distribution business whereby the companies I worked for bought movies and other entertainment software from the studios and then sold them to retailers of all sizes - from the mega retail chains down to mom-and-pop video stores. n, in 1999, I joined an executive search firm - where I have remained to this day. I am a "headhunter." I specialize in recruiting executive-level bankers in the greater Chicagoland area (all the work is done on the phone).
In the late 1990s I underwent a profound conversion experience to the Catholic faith. I have since become very much involved in various ministries related to Catholicism. Most, but not all, of my ministry work is related to teaching others and writing for various Catholic online publications. I am also a member of the Knights of Columbus where we do a great deal of charity work and support several dozen different non-profit organizations, such as Relay For Life and the Red Cross Blood Drive.
So that is my story - and I am sticking to it.
